The high level system architect will be central to the continued development of our business transition to higher level system and system of system architectures and platforms for strategic advantage. The post holder will produce system and sub-system architectures and top level designs, preparing specs and systems technical statements of work for suppliers. Additionally, the post holder will provide expertise regarding system integration and validation, verification and test (VV&T) activities across the company.
Manage electronic and electro-mechanical manufacturing subcontract activities, to include negotiation, implementation and monitoring of performance against defined targets. To support the Procurement Manager in the development and implementation of best procurement/business practices. Conduct Make v Buy analysis for subcontract opportunities and support the overall supply chain strategy of the business. To co-ordinate material data management and report on build order readiness positions in relation to procurement activities.
To design and manage effective ‘world class’ supply chain solutions across assigned commodity groups, in line with L-3 TRL procurement requirements and in accordance with best practice. Accountability and responsibility for MRP performance and ensure material is delivered on-time-in full, on cost; and on quality; at all times, across a commercially viable/robust supply base in support of the business plan

Manage day-to-day procurement activity for assigned commodity groups. To support the development of the supply base and deliver defined business and Procurement KPI targets (to include Quality, Delivery & Cost) through effective management of supplier performance. To support supplier assessment activities relevant to assigned commodity groups. To maintain accurate data within the business operating system (L500) at all times. To act as support for the other members of the procurement team as required.
To support the introduction of structured processes and procedures for the Procurement department in line with department and business strategy and future state requirements. Support the wider Manufacture operation in development of structured processes, systems and procedures.
To safeguard the company’s interests in all aspects of commercial/contracts management lifecycle. Negotiate contracts/agreements and provide commercial knowledge and guidance to TRL staff.
