BROADSHIELD® Counter-RCIED solutions
One of the greatest areas of concern to soldiers in the field is that of Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIEDs), which kill more soldiers in modern warfare than any other weapon system.
Such devices are also being increasingly used by terrorist organisations and other subversive groups to target civilian VVIPs and their vehicle convoys.
L-3 TRL’s BROADSHIELD® family of products have been developed and refined over 20 years using the highly successful Compact EW System (CES) architecture, alongside a Threat Analysis Cell which uses field-based intelligence to develop the most refined and advanced waveforms to defeat the threat.
Each BROADSHIELD® solution features software-based radio architecture which ensures the ability to re-programme the equipment in response to emerging threats in a dynamic environment. Upgrades, new mission parameters and waveforms can be loaded quickly in the field using the simple and user-friendly BROADSHIELD® Mission Editor software.
With a range of man-portable and vehicle-borne solutions available, our BROADSHIELD® systems are already achieving widespread success in the field; used by over 20 coalition forces.
