L-3 TRL has donated £5,000 to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity; a contribution they hope will go a small way to helping keep the three air ambulances operational in Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties, so they can continue to provide life-saving care.
Employees across the business took part in events and activities throughout the year to raise as much money as possible for the cause, including; a pounds for pounds weight loss challenge, an ice bucket challenge and various raffles and collections. Every penny raised was then matched by the company at the end of the year, increasing the total amount donated.
“We are delighted to be able to support such a vital service in our local community” said Carly Hill, Marketing Director at L-3 TRL. “We hope this will help the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity continue their fantastic work.”
The Midlands Air Ambulance is the charity responsible for funding and operating three air ambulances serving the communities of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. This constitutes the largest air ambulance operating region in the UK.
Since 1991, the charity has responded to more than 42,000 missions averaging 2,000 per year, making it one of the longest established and busiest air ambulance organisations in the UK.
“We have enjoyed working with L-3 TRL during the last 12 months. We attend a great number of incidents in Gloucestershire, including road traffic collisions, sporting injuries and equestrian accidents, and the terrific support demonstrated by L-3 TRL’s employees towards funding future life-saving missions in the region.” said Sofia Voutianitis, Corporate Fundraising Manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
L-3 TRL Technology protects people worldwide from current and evolving threats through market leading defence and security solutions and its decision to support a local charity falls in line with their Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy to support and enhance their engagement with the local community.
