L-3 TRL Technology, UK supplier of integrated surveillance systems will unveil its new man-portable PROTECTOR surveillance system at the IDEX 2009 exhibition in Abu-Dhabi next month.
Initially created as a ‘people protection’ solution, the man-portable PROTECTOR system has been designed to provide 24/7 all-weather protection for small foot and vehicle mounted patrol groups. Each system combines electro-optical and thermal imaging technology to provide a dual-capability solution that can identify small targets at long ranges from a central control point.
The new PROTECTOR system is discreet, portable and lightweight, making it ideal for tactical use within military, law enforcement or other surveillance environments.
“The new man-portable PROTECTOR system can be rapidly deployed without the requirement for an external power supply, creating an adaptable self-supporting solution that can be configured for a variety of applications”, said Andy Pine, Vice President Strategy and Business Development for L-3 TRL.
IDEX 2009 delegates will have the opportunity to see first-hand, the unique PROTECTOR Command and Control software which uses touch-initiated technology to provide users with a comprehensive geo-reference display that controls all system elements for real-time situational awareness.
