Trainer Maintenance

Summary of Position

To support the Senior Trainer Maintenance in providing and delivering training to customers on the operation and maintenance of L-3 TRL products.

Main duties of this position
  • Develop, in conjunction with the engineering and support departments, suitable training courses and packages in line with customer’s requirements. 
  • Assist and advise on the preparation of handbooks and documentation to ensure full compatibility with training.
  • Carry out the training of customer’s staff, and L-3 TRL internal staff, on L-3 TRL products. Training will be delivered either at L-3 TRL sites or customer’s sites, both in the UK and overseas. 
  • Design, prepare and produce training packages at appropriate level which can be supplied to customers to allow some ‘on the job’ training.
  • Provide advice and support on product training matters to all business areas.
  • Work with other members of the ILS, Project, and Support teams to build up and improve the training capability within L-3 TRL.
  • Carry out analysis of customer training requirements using techniques such as Training Needs Analysis, Training Specific Task Analysis, Training Options, Gap Analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of tender documentation.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of providing successful training in high technology professional and/or military products.
  • Computer literate – with sound working knowledge on Windows and the MS Office suite of applications.
  • Strong team player, flexible and able to multitask
  • Strong knowledge of electronic test equipment
  • Willingness to travel

 

Desirable

  • An understanding of Communication / Radio systems would be desirable
  • Knowledge of Army Equipment Support Publications (AESPs) and Air Publications (APs) would be an advantage.
  • Understanding of RF and electronic circuits / modules

  • The post holder must have a valid driving licence to effectively cover L-3 TRL’s multiple sites, and visits to customer sites.
  • The post holder must be prepared to visit customer sites, sometimes for extended periods, in order to conduct training and support.
  • The post holder will have existing security clearance, or will have no impediment to obtaining it.
  • The post holder must have the willingness to get involved in activities outside of their immediate area of responsibility, where appropriate learning new skills on the job.
