Jim Chapman named new president

Mr. Chapman’s primary focus will be on the growth of the company with a continuing focus on technology innovation, whilst strengthening the project and operational aspects of the enterprise. His extensive background in the aerospace and defence industry, and expertise in leadership, strategic planning, operations and project management will help L-3 TRL meet the demanding and dynamic challenges of a competitive, ever-evolving marketplace.

I am confident that his diverse experience in the defense industry and broad knowledge of technology development and industry objectives will make him an asset to our business.”

Mr. Chapman joins L-3 TRL from Goodrich Sensors and Integrated Systems in Plymouth. He previously ran five business units as managing director for Cobham Aviation Services UK. Starting in 2003, he served as general manager and project director at GEC Marconi PTY Ltd, where he spent three years in Australia supporting its radar business. Prior to those positions, he spent 18 years with BAE Systems in a variety of management positions.

Mr. Chapman has an honours degree in applied physics and electronics and is a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IET).
